On May 13th, 2016, GITL signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Icon Logitech. The MOU was signed to provide storage area for the import cargo at GITL and Gwadar Free Zone. This MOU is another step towards the objective of making Gwadar Port as a transshipment hub. During the ceremony CEO GITL, Capt. Xiaolong Dai and CEO Icon Logitech Mr. Atif Butt signed the document and assured each other to work and support to achieve the desired target. Availing the storage facility in Free Zone will give an exemption from import duty and taxes and facilitate the Icon Logitech for re-export of the imported goods.

As per the MOU, there will be a monthly volume of 200 import containers which will be maintained and gradually increased by Icon Logitech.
