December 29, 2016, the 6th Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) meeting on Long- Term Planning of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) held in Beijing. As the operator of Gwadar Free Zone and Gwadar Port, Mr. Zhang Baozhong, the chairman of COPHC was invited to attend the meeting.

Mr. Zhang Baozhong, chairman of COPHC reported the development of Gwadar Free Zone and Gwadar Port, he indicated that; After President Xi Jinping’s successful visit to Pakistan, the year of 2015 was regarded as planning year of CPEC, but as to the year of 2016 is an action year to Gwadar Free Zone and Gwadar Port. With sufficient wisdom and courage, COPHC overcame lots of difficulties and achieved unprecedented success in the operation of port, the construction of Free Zone, investment attraction and livelihood projects, ect. The leaders and specialists of the meeting highly appreciated the achievements of COPHC.

At the meeting, wittnessed by Mr. Xu Shaoshi, Minister of National Development and Reform Commission and Ashan Iqbal, Minister of Pakistan Planning ,Development and Reform Ministry, Mr. Zhang Baozhong as the representative of COPHC signed MOU of Gwadar Free Zone’s financial service with Habib Bank Limited, and MOUs of investment in Gwadar Free Zone with Beiqi Foton Motor Co., LTD and Henan Air Harbor International Flower Industry Limited Company.
