The Communist Party’s Secretary for Xinjiang, Zhang Chunxian visits Gwadar Port

Mr. Zhang Chunxian, the Communist Party’s Secretary for Xinjiang visited Gwadar on April 4th, Mr. Zhang was accompanied by a 61-member delegation, comprising Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong, the vice governor of Xinjiang, other officails and heads of various investment and business companies. Mr. Zhang was received at the Gwadar Airport by Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai.
Mr. Zhang and the delegation were reported by Mr. Zhang Baozhong, chairman of COPHC about the development of Gwadar Port and Gwadar Free Zone. Mr. Zhang Chunxian spoke highly of COPHC for its hardwork and effort in the reconstruction of Gwadar Port and the development of Gwadar Free Zone. He encouraged the employees of COPHC to continue working hard and make contribution to the construction of CPEC.
Mr. Zhang said that Xinjiang is interested in making investment in Gwadar and that joint ventures will bring an economic revolution to the region. “Gwadar will be the future economic hub of Pakistan and an icon of development and prosperity in the region,” he said.
The Chinese delegation laid flowers at the monuments for the Chinese martyrs and visited the desalination plant of Gwadar Port.
